In Which I Think About the BBC

On April 18th, 1930, the British Broadcasting Corporation declared that there was no news to report for their evening news segment. They then played a piano piece for the rest of the news report. Today felt much like April 18th, 1930. I was stopped once again and told that I looked like someone's relative (John, if you're out there reading this, I hope you get more luck with this ugly mug than I get), but that was the highlight. Tempting as it is to make something more exciting up, I feel it's important to acknowledge that it's okay to have bad or mediocre days.
What's that? Some of you were expecting me to talk about something else? Odd. Pervs.
Some good things did happen today. I convinced my sister to go walking with me! We didn't walk together, but we were both on the trail at the same time, so... success? My sister takes the Robert Frost approach to nature trails, so I knew we were going to be parting ways at some point on the path. Admittedly, I didn't expect it to be in the first hundred feet, but I did anticipate it to happen at some point. Perhaps she is more accurately described as Robert Frost if he wrote Haikus:
You go down that path;
Immediately, I diverge.
I do what I want.
I poke fun at her here, but I truly love all my siblings, this one included. I have so much more joy in my life when she's around. There is something to be said about the increased joy gained in an activity when you can share it with someone else.
That is my dull, something-of-a-downer day. Nothing bad happened today, I just felt a little down. I don't mind- our emotions are tied to so many things, and they shouldn't be dismissed for stemming from roots we cannot see or understand. Emotions are valid no matter where they come from. What matters is what you choose to do with them. Don't let a bad day get you down just because it's a bad day.
Oh, right, this is a fitness blog. I walked four miles and lifted some weights. There, I did the fitness blog thing.
Some great wisdom here it took me most of my life to learn! I’m glad this is just a “fitness blog” ;)
