Or at least his cousin does. That's right, it's Pete the snake! Ever since that one day, Pete has been something of a recluse. Turns out, his relative likes to sunbathe on the Neuse River Trail. I was warned of his presence by a Hispanic man walking his dog, so we shall name him Pedro. Pedro had a similar disposition to Pete; turns out if you leave most snakes alone, they're happy to bask in peace. It was nice to have so many people watching out for each other- I had two dog walkers, two army recruits, and a bicyclist all warn me about the snake. I feel like people are naturally good. They don't gain anything from warning me, just a good feeling from helping someone else.

And now, to complete part two of yesterday's rant. Anger is the flavor of the day! I really, really hate that I feel uncomfortable talking about suicide. Most people in the world have either toyed with the idea at some point or have someone close who did or went farther than toying. No one talks about it. I don't talk about it much because people immediately either try to comfort you, recommend a therapist, or consider having you committed. No one asks you to tell them more about it or the feelings surrounding it. It feels like they want you to stop talking about it. So I stop.

That's about all the anger I can muster. I don't really experience that emotion very often, so it's unfamiliar to me. The closest I get on a consistent basis is frustration. I'm afraid this'll be another short one. I'm not sure why, but I just don't have much to talk about today. I did manage to get below 232 today, so we keep making progress. That's about 23 pounds we've knocked out so far.
